- This GIS dataset is a GIS version of AGS Map 178, polygon features, as mapped at 1:250,000-scale by Fenton and Andriashek. Digitizing was originally done by Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA). The data were supplied to AGS by PFRA in Arc/Info coverage format (map polygon features only). Data were subsequently checked and edited by AGS.

- Data are contiguous, topologically correct polygons as built and enforced using ArcInfo software. No effort was made to ensure continuity of features with existing data in adjacent study areas (i.e. edgematching).

- Map was scanned as 24-bits, 500 resolution jpeg and converted to 8-bitt tiff file for performing registration procedure in ArcINFO. 10 to 30 control points were used for registration to achieve an average RMS error of 15 m. Visual examination of the registered digital data against the provincial 1:250 000-scale digital base data indicates the positional accuracy is +/- 350 m.
